The Peacepipe (200 × 200 cm, canvas) presents a symbolic gathering where nations and religions meet at a single round table. Figures from different cultures and belief systems sit as equals, their diverse identities visible yet non-hierarchical. The round table becomes a shared ground for dialogue, diplomacy, and the fragile possibility of peace.
Irony plays a central role in the scene. A smoking nun subverts expectations of religious purity and restraint, while the waitress in the foreground abandons her role of service to indulge in excess. These contradictions expose the human flaws beneath moral, spiritual, and social roles, suggesting that peace is negotiated not by ideals alone, but by imperfect people.
The rising smoke of the peace pipe merges above the table, dissolving boundaries as differences momentarily blur. Rather than depicting harmony as pure or orderly, The Peacepipe acknowledges tension, hypocrisy, and vulnerability as part of any honest attempt at unity. The work ultimately proposes peace as an ongoing, deeply human process — messy, ironic, and necessary.
