A few weeks before the tsunami struck, I dreamt of it — long before I even knew its name. The vision stayed with me, haunting and relentless, compelling me to draw and paint it over the course of weeks and months. To me, it felt like a message from the Earth itself: a cry of anguish from a planet wounded by humanity’s destruction.
It was as though the Earth was warning us — telling us to stop before it is too late. Nature, pushed beyond its limits, carries a force far greater than ourselves. What we witnessed was not an ending, but perhaps only the beginning.
Out of this experience, a poem emerged:
I HAD A DREAM
Massive walls of water,
a wave higher than the sky.
I kept drawing it…
painting it…
Existence and life
disappearing into water.
Four months later —
the tsunami.
Dreams… reality…
dreams… reality…
Reflections of awareness
for this planet Earth.
This life for love.
This love for life.
