This painting was created in the aftermath of the Corona pandemic — a time marked by isolation, silence, and distance. After months of living behind closed doors, the world slowly began to open again, yet human connection no longer felt natural or effortless. Simple rituals that once seemed ordinary had become unfamiliar.

The three young women in this work embody that fragile moment of return. They are finally outside again, reunited with life, with the city, with one another — and yet there is a quiet hesitation within them. A subtle shyness lingers in their gestures, as though they are rediscovering themselves after a long absence from the world.
